Newmarket Lifestyle is a new 33 600m² centre planned within the mixed-use Newmarket Precinct. The Precinct is an upmarket, mixed-use development node conveniently located in Newmarket Park, Alberton, spanning 77 hectares of prime land, where the old Newmarket Racecourse used to be situated, south-east of Alberton CBD.

The Newmarket Lifestyle Centre aims to pay tribute to the rich history and a nod to the iconic Newmarket racecourse that used to stand in its place. The architect and developers were determined to honour its heritage by incorporating design elements that echo what used to be there.One of the most striking features of the new mall is the use of natural light. The racetrack was known for its beautifully manicured lawns and gardens, and the Lifestyle mall is designed to bring that same sense of openness and lightness. Large walkway volumes and clerestory windows allow plenty of natural light to flood the interior, creating a bright and airy atmosphere that is both welcoming and comfortable.

The mall is designed to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. Great care was taken to minimize the building’s impact on the environment by creating renewable energy sourcea and eco-friendly materials to reduce the building’s consumption.
